July is National Military Consumer Protection Month, a time to remind our service members and veterans that the Florida Attorney General’s Office is here to offer assistance. So, this week we released our 2020 Military Consumer Protection Resource Guide.
It is my hope that this guide will help protect military members and our great veterans against scammers trying to exploit their bravery and sacrifice.
The guide is filled with information about common scams targeting military members and their families, and it can help you avoid military-related scams. To view the guide, click here.
Florida’s 1.5 million veterans and 90,000 active and reserve members of the Armed Forces are also able to receive help through my office’s Military and Veterans Assistance Program. We have a designated team of attorneys and investigators dedicated to quickly review complaints submitted by service members and veterans to ensure all military members are protected from unscrupulous business practices and fraudsters. To learn more about MVAP, click here.
Anyone who believes they are a victim of a scam or other fraudulent activity should contact my office by calling 1(866) 9NO-SCAM or by visiting MyFloridaLegal.com.
Our military members risk their lives to protect our safety and freedom, and Florida is one of the most military-friendly states in the country. I am dedicating resources in my office to protect our patriots as we work together to create a stronger, safer Florida.
