As Attorney General, I am constantly looking for ways to innovate and improve how we fight and prevent crime. Since taking office, we have launched several initiatives to engage the community in helping law enforcement reduce crime across Florida. I am proud to announce that this week, one of those initiatives was adopted nationwide.
In October 2020, I launched **TIPS to bring uniformity and ease to anonymous crime reporting in Florida. This crime-fighting tool allows anyone to report a crime from anywhere in the state by dialing **TIPS (8477) on a cellphone.
The number connects tipsters to the closest Crime Stoppers in the region and allows callers to remain anonymous. Additionally, tipsters may be eligible for a reward if the information provided leads to an arrest.
Now, Crime Stoppers USA is taking our Florida program nationwide, and Americans from coast to coast can participate. That means, no matter if you’re in Miami, Florida, or Miami, Oklahoma, you can dial this easy-to-remember number and provide tips to law enforcement.
This is just another example of how our state is leading, and how citizens can help us fight crime and build a Stronger, Safer Florida.

The only individuals who are more secure because of our DHS secretary are the drug cartels and human smugglers.
