Most state and local government employees, as well as elected and appointed officials, are subject to the Florida Code of Ethics, Chapter 112, Part III, Florida Statutes. The Florida Commission on Ethics investigates sworn complaints ranging from erroneous financial disclosure filings to misuse of office. The Ethics Bureau, within the Office of the Attorney General, prosecutes potential violations before the Division of Administrative Hearings under Chapter 120, Florida Statutes. This bureau provides attorneys who serve as the Ethics Commission's prosecutors, or "Advocates."
