Project Protect
What is Project Protect?
The Office of the Attorney General, county sheriffs and the Clerks of Court have partnered to help protect crime victims in Florida by creating Project Protect. This program provides free doorbell cameras to victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, stalking and sexual violence.
The devices can provide a 24-hour audio and visual surveillance for a residence—adding a layer of protection for victims of these crimes.
How Does the Program Work?
Project Protect posters will be placed in the Clerks of Courts offices throughout Florida. Clerk staff will provide victims with contact information to directly connect victims with local sheriffs’ victim advocates. The trained victim advocates will guide each victim through the process of receiving the doorbell cameras.
Victim advocates can request doorbell cameras and submit for reimbursement of the cost.
