The pandemic is not the only crisis our LEOs are fighting. Our officers continue to combat the opioid epidemic—with deaths predicted to hit a record high—all while facing hostile groups of radicals aiming to undermine those who wear a badge.
The number of officers killed in the line-of-duty is up more than 50% in 2020 already. According to the FBI, 28 law enforcement officers have been feloniously killed in the line-of-duty during the first half of this year alone.
This is heartbreaking and unacceptable.
Despite all the threats, dangers and new challenges, the courageous men and women in law enforcement stand firm in their commitment to protect the communities they love. They answer the call to keep the peace and are too often met with disrespect and violence.
As Florida’s Attorney General, a former judge, prosecutor and the proud wife of a law enforcement officer, I know that the vast majority of law enforcement officers are good people, dedicated to a life of service over self. They are heroes, brave men and women willing to risk their own health and safety to protect yours and mine.
Please join me in honoring our law enforcement officers. Thank them for their service. Support them during these challenging times.
Backing the blue together, we will build a Stronger, Safer Florida.

Ted Cruz of Texas in strong support of the Cut Profits to the Cuban Regime Act. The CPCR Act aims to end the human trafficking of Cuban health care professionals through the country’s overseas medical missions program.Attorney General Ashley Moody said, “As Attorney General, one of my top priorities is ending human trafficking. While my efforts have included working with law enforcement to address forced sexual exploitation, human trafficking takes on many other forms, including forced and inhumane labor. Thousands of Cuban medical professionals are currently being sent overseas for their services with their pay going to benefit the communist Cuban government. We cannot stand idly by as this regime continues to abuse and exploit its citizens. We must act now to end this form of modern-day slavery orchestrated by the Cuban government.” Read More
