Advocacy and VOCA Grants
BUREAU OF ADVOCACY AND GRANTS MANAGEMENT
The bureau provides regional victim advocacy and appellate notification to victims of crime, crisis response training and coordination, and administers the address confidentiality program and the federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) assistance grant program. As part of the outreach and clearinghouse functions, the bureau maintains a directory of victim service providers (which may be accessed at http://myfloridalegal.com/directory), publishes the Victim Advocate Reference Guide, and maintains the Adult and Child Sexual Assault Protocols: Initial Forensic Physical Examination 2007.
Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Assistance Grants
The federal VOCA assistance grant program offers funding to local community providers for use in responding to the emotional and physical needs of crime victims, assisting victims in stabilizing their lives after their victimization, helping victims to understand and participate in the criminal justice system, and providing victims with a measure of safety and security.
