The Attorney General is the head of the Department of Legal Affairs and is one of three members of the Florida Cabinet which, along with the Governor, constitutes the executive branch government . Each Cabinet member heads a department of state government and collectively the Governor and Cabinet serve as agency head for several state agencies including the departments of Revenue, Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, Veterans Affairs, and the Department of Law Enforcement. The Governor and Cabinet conduct executive branch business sitting as numerous boards and commissions addressing issues such as state lands, state investments, and rules pertaining to insurance and financial regulation. They also sit as the Clemency Board.
