Internship Program

The Attorney General serves as the attorney for the State of Florida and as a member of the Florida Cabinet (For more information about the Attorney General visit the Role and Function of the Attorney General). Interning for the Office of the Attorney General affords students an opportunity to gain practical experience in a legal field and offers students a chance to perform meaningful work toward the completion of their degree.

Internships available consist primarily of paralegal and law student interns. Volunteer positions vary based on division needs.

The Office of the Attorney General Internship is open to interested students enrolled in an accredited ABA law school or an applicable undergraduate program of study with an accredited educational institution. The program offers unpaid internship and student volunteer opportunities. All students seeking academic credit during the fall, spring, or summer term should apply for an unpaid internship. In addition, students who are not receiving academic credit are welcome to seek volunteer opportunities.

Students must be able to intern a minimum of 20 hours per week, or for a period as prescribed by the college or school. The number and locations of internships opportunities available each term is based on agency need and opportunity; a summary page with a brief description of each unit has been added to the last page of the intern application to assist you in your selection.

Interested students are directed to complete and submit the appropriate application packet prior to the deadline.
