Attorney General Pam Bondi fully supports The Medicine Abuse Project and the mission to prevent half a million teens from abusing medicine over the next five years.
Medicine abuse is a growing problem among teens in the United States. Attorney General Bondi is joining The Partnership at Drugfree.org’s campaign, The Medicine Abuse Project. Prescription medicines and over-the counter cough medications have become the most commonly abused drugs among 12 to 13 year olds. One in six teens has used a prescription medicine that was not prescribed for them. The mission of The Medicine Abuse Project is to prevent half a million teens from abusing medicine over the next five years.
Attorney General Bondi has been on the forefront of fighting prescription drug abuse. Since first taking office, she has championed tough laws and regulations to shut down pill mills and put bad doctors behind bars. She has also worked closely with the Florida Legislature to establish a Statewide Task Force on Prescription Drug Abuse and Newborns. More information about prescription drug abuse prevention can be found on our prevention page.
