TALLAHASSEE, FL -- Attorney General Bill McCollum today announced that an Orange County man has been taken into custody on charges of child pornography possession. Gralin Nelson’s possession and distribution of multiple images of child pornography was discovered through an investigation initiated by the Attorney General’s CyberCrime Unit. Nelson was arrested today by law enforcement officers with the CyberCrime Unit, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Investigators with the CyberCrime Unit determined Nelson, 49, possessed images of child pornography while conducting an online investigation into the distribution. A search warrant was executed at Nelson’s Orlando residence by the CyberCrime Unit, the Orange County Sheriff's Office and the FBI. Investigators seized one computer and hundreds of discs containing images of child pornography, including images of children no more than 10 years of age and at least one under the age of four. The equipment removed from Nelson’s house will undergo additional forensic analysis to locate any possible additional images.
Nelson will be charged with seven counts of possession of child pornography and under the CyberCrimes Against Children Act of 2007, at least one of the charges will be enhanced to a second-degree felony. If convicted of all counts, Nelson faces up to 45 years in prison. He will be prosecuted by attorneys with the CyberCrime Unit. The agencies involved in this case are all members of the Central Florida ICAC and the Orlando Innocent Images Task Force.
