Attorney General Bondi's Weekly Briefing
The Florida False Claims Act empowers my office to take legal action against companies and individuals who defraud the government. This week, I announced that we reached an $11 million multi-state settlement with CA Technologies, which resulted from a lawsuit brought under state and federal false claims acts. This settlement provides relief to taxpayer-funded governmental entities that CA Technologies overcharged. The settlement amount is divided based on the number of transactions that each state had with CA Technologies, and affected Florida customers, which include school districts, libraries and state universities, will receive $300,000.

Today I had the distinct pleasure of attending Interconnect Cables’ expansion at Brooksville – Tampa Bay Regional Airport. I was honored to join Sareet Majumdar, CEO of ICTC, for their grand opening ceremony. The full service electronics contract manufacturer has truly been an exemplary business. Over the past five years, ICTC has doubled its workforce, doubled its revenue, and doubled its footprint. I thank Governor Rick Scott for his leadership in making Florida a business friendly state, so businesses, such as ICTC, can expand right here in our great state and create jobs.

What is most impressive about ICTC is that everyone who works there is so dedicated to the company’s mission, and Sareet’s motto, “business with a conscience,” is embraced by all. I joined all of the attendees in packaging food for hungry children and families. By participating in “Feeding Children Everywhere,” ICTC is showing by example how businesses can give back to the community.
